Campaign 2007
A Great City Deserves Great Art!

Please make a tax deductible donation to the Arts Council - and send your gift to 700 Main Street, Buffalo 14202.

This past year, with your help, the Arts Council:
  • Granted $ 61,000 to 47 different arts programs in Erie and Chautauqua Counties through our work with the New York State Council on the Arts.
  • Made it possible for rural areas such as Boston, Springville, Brant and North Collins to have high quality arts programming through our Re-grant Initiative.
  • Awarded 15 different arts-in-education grants valued at $20,385 for schools to have arts activities for their students.
  • Advanced the careers of 26 artists with 26 different Strategic Opportunity Stipend Grants valued at $12,000 via our partnership with New York Foundation on the Arts.
  • Provided health protection for 130 people through our member group health insurance program – a net saving to individual subscribers of more than $300 monthly and even more for families!
  • In collaboration with the Erie Niagara Regional Partnership, AmeriCorps and the Americans for the Arts in Washington, D.C., the Arts Council is participating in “Arts and Economic Prosperity II” and a national survey of the impact of the arts on local economies. Survey results are expected to be released in June 2007.
  • Presented eight art exhibits showcasing the talents of our local artists.
  • Produced three new exhibitions in collaboration with SUNY Empire State College that gave voice to our member artists, university students seeking to meet graduation requirements and women artists over 60 years of age who have exceptional abilities as visual artists.
  • For the second year, in partnership with Medaille College and AmeriCorps, produced a professional quality literary magazine that featured work from students enrolled in 22 different high schools.
  • Hosted the 20th Annual Arts Awards Luncheon celebrating the outstanding contributions and achievements of artists, arts administrators, patrons, volunteers, businesses and arts organizations.
None of this work is possible without your involvement and support. The Arts Council is counting on the fact that you share our vision for this region - a community brimming with excitment, creativity, prosperity, and promise! We are counting on your support to help us keep this vision alive - Thank You!
