The Most Significant and Famous French Artists of the 20th Century
France is a homeland for few generations of the significant artists. The education in this country is orientated at art promotion. That is why no wonder there are so many talented famous French artists the world appreciates as the greatest painters of our times.
Appealing to the art history of the 20th century there can be found a lot of prominent and significant artists who left a huge legacy to follow. Most of the modern French painters are associated with the Impressionism epoch and from this point of view one of the brightest painters was Henri Matisse who is still considered as one of the founders of the modern art as we used to understand it nowadays. Everyone who is into French abstract art knows the name of the remarkable artist of the 20th century - Maurice Denis. He was prone to depicting of the certain religious themes in his art pieces. His techniques are highly welcomed among the modern artists following the tendencies of fauvism and cubism.
