Her original designs turn gemstones, metals and pearls into sophisticated creations with a fresh color palate. She lives in Buffalo with her family.
Bliss Designs Anne Bliss is a jeweler who works in semi-precious stones and sterling silver, creating jewelry with a timeless and elegant symmetry that belies a subtle yet accomplished hand, often creating custom pieces for individual clients. She has co-founded 'Bliss & Bejewelled' and 'Urban Artisans', two networks of crafters and artisans working together to promote their works. Bliss & Bejewelled has raised money for charitable causes which include Gilda's Club and the Hospice Foundation, among others.
716-823-7646 My approach turns utility into form transcending the initial function of the objects I employ. My pieces are nostalgic, whimsical, and become again, functional. I work with traditional craft techniques - painting, faux finishes, glass painting, wire sculpting with 20 to 12 gauge wire (copper and aluminum), and assemblage of found objects into functional art. I incorporate original wire and bead work done free-hand without the use of patterns or jigs. I work in silver, copper, brass, and bronze. My pieces are handwrought and constructed using traditional metal forming methods. Designs are inspired by geometric and natural forms as well as the properties of metal.
