A.R.C. - Art Resource Center
Welcome to the Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County and the "Art Resource Center." Note: The Art Resource Center is not available at this time due to computer problems. Please contact (716) 856-7520 for more information. Generously funded through contributions from Bell Atlantic, the Buffalo Alliance for Education, the City of Buffalo, Softbank Services, and the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation, the Center features 2 computer workstations. These networked computers are equipped with Internet access, color scanner, printer, and numerous software programs to assist both individual artists and arts administrators. In addition, a 27" color monitor, VCR, and sound-system are available for video and/or audio viewing and listening needs. Introductory workshops on accessing the computer workstations, as well as the Internet, and having a web presence on Buffalo.com are available.
The Art Resource Center (A.R.C.) also contains a print and media library, featuring the Council's collection of books, magazines, newspapers, video/audio tapes and CD-ROMs, all containing current arts-related information and news. There is also an extensive section on funding opportunities for arts organizations and artists. You may even want to stay more in touch with the arts in Buffalo by joining our e-mail list. Participants receive daily information on Buffalo's exciting art scene in their e-mail. The A.R.C. is available for meeting space and research free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis. We are eager to have it used by the arts and cultural community and encourage everyone to spread the word. We are also open to your ideas and suggestions about how the A.R.C. can be most useful to the community. Please speak to any of the staff or call us at (716) 856-7520 for more information.
